When we receive your order, we send our boats out to the clam leases to harvest to your exact requests. Harvesting your order is very labor-intensive work, and these gentlemen keep in excellent shape for the task. The bags are hoisted onto the boat and emptied into these orange plastic baskets. This allows the harvest to drain off excess water and it also allows the tiny sea creatures that have come along for the ride to have a chance to head back to their watery homes.

Once back at our processing room, the harvested clams are cleaned and tumbled. At each step of the process, our staff is mindful to
|
choose only the freshest most superior clams. Shells that are cracked or disproportionately sized are culled.

We set a counter that will automatically count and grade the size of the clams. This is when we do our final grading. Once again our quality control experts examine every clam as it goes down the conveyor belt to be sure they are perfect.
